Light is diffracted through an Opal conveying flashes of multi coloured light, like capturing a rainbow, that is both  exciting and pleasing to the eyes. Held at different angles and in different lights the colours shimmer and swirl. 
Opals can contain up to 30% water so it seemed fitting to portray them through this artwork, settled in tranquil blue tropical waters to sparkle and entice the viewer with promises of treasure.
